Appointment Day!!!!

We are on the road now about an hour away from where we were staying.  Heading to the U.S. Border to my long awaited appointment.

I can’t believe this day is here. It’s because my body is cooperating today and I feel better than I have the past week.. Go figure!

I finally see hope at the end of this long road…

This journey feels surreal.  I am trying not to be overly hopeful about getting answers because I have been disappointed so many times … But I have a good feeling about this!

Poor Avril

I was never really a fan of Avril Lavigne, but after hearing about her struggle with Lyme Disease and the fact that she went public and did this interview, I have a new found respect for her and her musical talent.

This made me bawl my eyes out.  You can almost feel her pain.

Here is part of her interview on Good Morning America  earlier this morning.  My heart goes out to her!!!!

She is also performing her new single, FLY at the Special Olympics.  Gosh, my heart hurts!!!

Tear jerker!!!!

A rough night

I had somewhat of a breakdown last night.

Bawled my eyes out while simultaneously being angry and frustrated.

I am just way too overwhelmed with all of this to tell you the truth and really noticing my symptoms more and more all the time.

All the little things that I just overlooked thinking they were “normal”…

Things like feeling tingly and itchy all over my body, that creepy crawly feeling as though invisible bugs are crawling all over my skin  (worst at night)

My body feeling tender to the touch as though it is bruised in certain spots (upper chest, arms, legs, ribs, neck)

Constant headache

Constant Nausea

Throwing up yesterday morning

Extreme fatigue and exhaustion

Dizziness

Crackling and ringing in my ears

Constant sinus congestion, worse in the mornings

One more day until my appointment….I just really hope that I can get some answers and some relief…I am in a beautiful Canadian city and haven’t  left my hotel room.  I can’t wait to live again.

On the road to wellness!

So I am officially on my way to see my Lyme (and tick-borne illness) Literate MD in the US.  I am on the road as we speak.. A 6-7 hour drive that I know will be worth it!  (Momma is driving me!) 😊💜

I feel horrible today… Massive headache, body aches in all my joints, nausea, dizziness, exhausted feeling and the list goes on.

Thankfully my appointment is on Tuesday June 30th and I will get some long awaited answers to my 3 year mystery illness!

I have some new Reading Material

I have just started reading this but if you have Lyme disease, co-infections or any other tick-borne illnesses, you need to get this book.

I myself have been struggling to wrap my head around all of this and I still don’t officially have a diagnosis of my own.  There is so much information out there but also a lot of misinformation and this book does a phenomal job of explaining and breaking it all down for you.

I personally believe this book gives people like me and many others hope that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

This first page almost made me cry (hopeful happy tears)

Healing Tonic Tea

This tonic has anti-inflammatory and detoxifying ingredients.

It helps me with my nausea and body aches.

Ingredients:

1/2 tbsp ground ginger

1/2 tbsp ground cinnamon

1/8 tsp turmeric powder

Pinch of cardamom

500ml boiling water

1/2 unsweetened cashew milk (or milk of your choice)

1 slice of fresh lemon

Optional: 1 tsp raw honey

Combine all dry ingredients in a mug and pour boiling water overtop.

Whisk until dissolved and add your milk substitute of choice and honey for sweetness.

(It is a little spicy from the ginger without) Enjoy as you would a warm cup of tea.  Especially good before bedtime 🌛
