DIY Acne Mud Spot Treatment

Yesterday I did a wonderful detox face mask which brought some nasty impurities to the surface.  Naturally, I am tempted to spot treat them some more, so I found this recipe and tried it out.  I can say that I am surely not disappointed.

I was going to post before and after, but really, who  wants to see a close up of my gross pimple?  Not me haha

Ingredients:

1 1/2 Tbsp Bentonite Clay

1 Capsule Activated Charcoal

1 Tsp Coconut Oil

1 Tsp Whole Leaf Aloe Vera Juice

Plastic Bowl

Plastic Spoon

Small Plastic Container (to store mask)

*Note:  No metal bowls or spoons, as this will reduce the efficacy of the bentonite clay.

How to:

1.  Add all ingredients into your bowl.  (Remove activated charcoal from capsule and dispose of the empty capsule).

2. Mix all your ingredients well.  You will need to kind of mash it together with your plastic spoon and smooth out any lumps.  It may take a minute or two.

3.  Wet a face cloth with warm to hot water and place over area to be treated for about  minute.  (To open your pores).  Dry area and immediately apply a small thin layer of mud to the desired spot.

4.  Set timer for 20 minutes.  Remove mud.  The area may be slightly red, but this will go away in time.  Do not leave on for longer than 20 minutes.  Store in the fridge.

*Note:  This should not burn, tingle, or itch.  If you feel any of these things, remove immediately and do not use, you could have an allergy.
