DAY 18-26 Easing Back into My Meds

Last time I posted about my treatment plan, I was contemplating going to the hospital for my excruciating abdominal and back pain that would not ease up on me for over a week.  I was also being sick to my stomach any time even a drop of water or anything touched my lips.  Literally a sip of water made me be sick.

Well, I did end up in emerge and they pretty much thought I was a joke because of all the meds I was on.  I was given pain killers and an anti-nausea pill and given a bunch of blood tests, EKG, and abdominal ultrasound.

My liver levels were slightly elevated, to no surprise, as it has been working extra hard to detox these days.  And also according to the doctor a “coincidental finding” of kidney stones.  LOL.  All the symptoms of kidney stones, but it was coincidental?  Hmmm…OK.

Anyways, they sent me on my way with an antacid prescription (huh?) and two anti nausea pills.  Thanks Doc!  That’ll do it….NOT.

Since then, the stone has passed along with the excruciating pain as well as the ridiculous amounts of vomiting.

I had to stop all of my meds, supplements, and could barely manage to detox or eat and drink anything at all!  It was HELL!!!  BUT, now I am getting back on track very slowly.

I am starting with one med at a time every 3-4 days and drinking tons of water.  I have stopped Hydroxychloroquine indefinitely as my body cannot tolerate it.  I just added med #2 today and it made me extraordinarily nauseated…to be expected I suppose.

I finally have a little pep back in my step and feel like I have a plan.  Momma said “You’re still on the same path.  You were just on the highway and now you’ve had to get off and take the side roads”.  Isn’t that the truth!

I am actually glad this happened as it was a chance for me to step back and really asses what I have been doing.  I have slowed it down and am being patient and kind to my body.  One little baby step at a time….

  1. Thank you for sharing your experience in such a genuine way.

My GP has just advised me that I have a kidney stone too. Can I ask if you did anything specific to “pass” it and how long it took you to do it? I’m eager to be rid of it (as I’m sure you understand).

    • Aww thanks for saying that! Honestly the doctors were zero help at all…Drink TONS of water and I mean loads…all you can do really is help your body push it out. Also you can mix one tablespoon of olive oil with one tablespoon of lemon with a glass of water. Pain killers and heating pad helped take the edge of the pain.

      • I’ve been drinking a TON of water (more than I ever have in my life) but I am going to try the olive oil and lemon additive. My GP wanted to do a CT scan over a kidney stone, but I refused. It’s not serious enough to warrant taking that risk. It’s got to come out eventually…

      • I hope so but don’t let it get too painful! It all depends on the size of it/them. I have also read that walking and moving the body helps…I know it might be hard because of the pain though! I hope it passes soon!!!

  2. That is awful, sorry you had to go through all of that. I can’t imagine having a kidney stone, it freaks me out because of the kidney pain I’ve been having. Drinking lots of water!!
