Minty Matcha Smoothie

This smoothie reminds me a little bit of a cold green tea latte/mint chocolate chip milkshake.  In other words….delicious.

I mixed the matcha smoothie and chocolate smoothie separately to keep the vibrant green colour which I love so much.

Step One  MATCHA SMOOTHIE BASE:

1 c almond milk

1 tsp matcha green tea powder

Handful baby spinach

1 frozen banana

2 medjool dates

Blend the above ingredients well until creamy and pour the beautiful green mixture into a glass.  Rinse out your blender.

The next blend of ingredients you will pour down the middle of the smoothie as to not change the colour.

Step Two  CHOCO-MINT SMOOTHIE:

1/2 c almond milk

1 fresh banana

1 tsp coconut oil

1 scoop chocolate protein powder (your choice)

4-5 mint leaves

1 tbsp raw cocao nibs

2 drops peppermint essential oil (food grade-I use Young Living Essential Oils)

Blend all ingredients well and pour down the centre of the matcha smoothie before serving.  Garnish with fresh mint leaves and cocao nibs.
