Berry Almond Butter Smoothie Bowl

I was feeling unwell for many days now and needed some nutrients. But also something that I could keep down and tasted a bit sweet. This was PERFECT.
Anything I try of Larice’s always turns out great. ūüôā

I froze half of this and ate it later as a frozen treat-equally yummy!!!

As per Larice’s ingredient list:

1/2 cup thawed frozen berries (I used a combination of blueberries and raspberries)

1 cup frozen berries (I used a combination of blackberries blueberries and raspberries)

2 tablespoons of raw almond butter

1-2 tablespoons chia seeds

2 tablespoons of almond milk

berry almond smoothie bowl

Talk about a Super Bowl!  This quick and easy breakfast idea will quench your brain’s thirst for bright pretty colors while satisfying your belly’s hunger for something filling and nutritious.  I love sipping smoothies, but sometimes you want to spoon your breakfast into your mouth.  Plus, it’s easier to load on the toppings.

I’ve tried some smoothie bowl recipes in the past, and they were either too runny, (and I ended up pouring them into a cup and drinking them) or they required some kind of thickener.  For this smoothie bowl, I kept things nice and chunky, and used a mini food processor to blend the ingredients.  The result: a nice thick, spoonable smoothie.

Green Smoothie Bowl

Delicious. Healthy. Easy. Quick.

My favourite green smoothie breakfast bowl (eat it with a spoon not drink it!)

Makes 2 bowls.

1 cup almond milk

1/2 cup frozen pineapple

1 ripe banana

2 handfuls spinach

Tsp chia seeds

Tsp flax seeds

Tsp spirulina powder

Blend all ingredients in a high speed blender until smooth.

Pour half of the smoothie into a bowl and top with favourite toppings.
I used chia seeds, blueberries, unsweetened coconut and kiwi today.  Yummy and satisfying!
