As I have said before, I typically enjoy my coffee black and bold.
Although, lately my poor belly seems to need a buffer… Which leads me to testing out new additions to my boring black coffee. (You are still my true love, don’t worry!)
Ingredients:
Hot Brewed coffee (about 1 cup)
1/4 c unsweetened vanilla almond milk
1/2 tsp coconut oil
1/2 tsp unsweetened cocao powder
1/2 tsp cinnamon
Optional: One tsp maple syrup for sweetness (I prefer mine without)
MAKE IT:
Start with your base of hot black coffee (fill your mug about 3/4 full)
In a high speed blender, combine almond milk, cinnamon, cocoa powder, coconut oil and maple syrup. Blend on high for a few minutes until steaming and frothy.
If you are not using a Vitamix, you may need to heat the almond milk in the microwave for a little bit before blending.
(The Vitamix will actually warm up the mixture if blended long enough)
Pour the blended almond milk into your coffee and enjoy! Mmmmmm.
I hope you enjoy this healthy spin on my old fave!
Cheers!
